Summer Weekend

This past weekend the Mr. & I decided to take the kids to the beach. We decided on New Port Beach off the Pacific Coast Highway 101. This is such a lovely beach and it has great views. Here are some picture of our great family day experience.

Summer To-Do List

I was reading one of my favorite mags over the weekend and came across an article on fun summer actives to do this summer. I thought I'd share my list.

1. Cook something new once a week.
2. Visit a museum.
3. Make your own ice cream (time to bring out the ice cream maker from the pantry).
3. Take a stay-cation in your hometown.
4. Take a road trip to a new location.
5. Try a new form of exercise outside.
6. Experiment with a new hairstyle.
7. Host an outdoor summer cocktail party.
8. Catch at least one summer concert.

What's on your list for this summer? I'd love to hear.

Guess Who's Back!

Hey Y'all! *waving in Blogosphere* It seems like forever since I've blogged. What can I say? I've been busy with life and the kids. Today was their last day of school. I don't know who was happier me or the kiddos! LOL. Anyhow, I just wanted to drop by and say Hello to everyone and wish you all a fun and exciting summer! I have lots of things planned so I'll be sure to try to post on a regular to keep you up-to-date.

Here are a few things that I've been working on.

Kate Spade Pink Flamingo Soirée.

I'm on a Kate Spade bandwagon with my DIY Kate Spade inspired tapered candle.

Some of the left-over candy from a Gender Reveal party! Oh, what fun it was.

My growing love for Washi tape continues. #DesignLife

Getting ready for a fun Flip Flops & Mimosas Photoshoot!

My Design Space. Where it all happens...I love to create!

Well, that's it! Until next time!!

Chic Mother's Day Craft

Hey Y'all, Mother's Day is just around the corner can you believe it! I came across this cute Mother's Day craft off of Anthropologie's Blog. It's simple, crafty and chic. For those with little ones this is a great craft that you can do with the kiddos reminiscent of the elementary school-age noodle craft from your childhood.

What You'll Need

Penne, or other wide pasta tubes
Hemp rope
Acrylic paints
Small paintbrushes
Glitter (optional)
Glue
Tape

**Oh, and cute kids required**
How to Make It
1. Penne pasta was our noodle of choice—it’s large enough for kids to paint and easy to string.

2. Use acrylic paints. The range of colors and pigmentation can’t be beat—it’s beautiful and long-lasting, so mamas can save their necklaces forever!

3. If you like you can add a few glittered noodles here and there because everyone loves a little sparkle! We brushed the noodle with mod podge but you could also just sprinkle glitter

on top of the wet paint.

4. Let the noodles dry overnight on parchment paper so they don’t stick.

5. Once dry, string the necklaces on hemp rope. Hemp is stiff enough for the kids to string easily, yet soft enough to lie nicely. Put a little tape on the end to help them feed it through the noodles.

That's it! You now have a chic and super crafty necklace compliments of the kiddos!

Hope you all have terrific Mother's Day!!

Kate Spade Planner

On Easter Sunday the Mr. and I went on an impromptu shopping trip to the nearby Cabazon Outlets. We went to one of my many favorite stores, Kate Spade.  He surprised me with a lovely purchase. I love to plan and organize everything, blame it on my Type A personality. So of course, I fell in love with this cute Kate Spade organizer. It's so chic and the pages are pretty and colorfully just how I like it!

Here's a few pics of the planner.
The tassel was purchased separately. I love how it adds a perfect pop of color. It's also playful and fun.

Here's a view from the inside.

I love the monthly calendar inserts. Each month has an inspirational saying just enough to get you started off right.

There also plenty of room for business cards, debit and credit cards.

There are tabs for my notes, todo lists, favorite restaurants, birthdays and addresses.

I'm such as planner nerd. I HEART my new planner.❤️

Jamaica Vacay

Hi y'all! I know I'm a little late in posting a recap of our recent trip to Jamaica. But as they say... It's better late than never. So I want to share a few highlights of our trip.

Jamaica Vacation Highlights

We stayed at the fabulous all-inclusive RIU Ocho Rios Resort. Everything was amazing. I highly recommend if you're ever staying in Ocho Rios.

We had an eventful time. We did quite a few excursions including a little rest and relaxation on our own.

Here's all of us on the trail horseback riding.

We also visited the Dolphin Cove where we swam with the dolphins and visted a bird arboretum.

Meet my little friends.

Here I am kissing Appollo. He was such a flirt!

We also visted the infamous Dunn's River Falls. 90 ft. Hiking trail in the waters. It was tough but we made it!

And we went zipling in the tropical rainforest. Here, we came across this beautiful peacock.

Aren't his feathers just gorgeous!

Here I am with just a little R&R (rest and relaxation).

I love this view. This could never get old.

We had some pretty amazing eats too! I loved the Jerk Chicken.

Overall, I loved our trip with eight days in paradise. I can't wait to go back or at least to another tropical island.
