First Time for Everything

Hey y'all, there's a first time for everything. Today I tried my hand at brownie pops and amazingly they came out great! I was little scared to make them since I'm an amateur baker. But with a little help and a whole lot of patience I was able to make a fun lil treat.

I had a little help from my good ole Boy, Pillsbury and everything was alright!

Here are a few few pics along the way.

Here's to conquering your fears! You can handle this!

Fancy Smancy! Creamy Tomato Bisque Soup.

I'm a HUGE fan of tomato-basil or tomato bisque soup. Bisque is just a fancy name for this soup. The taste is to die for. And this recipe fits the bill.

Creamy Tomato Basil Bisque

Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 50 minutes

Ingredients:

1 large yellow onion, chopped
1 sweet red pepper, chopped
2 (14 1/2 oz) cans diced tomatoes
2 medium plum tomatoes, chopped
2/3 cup basil, chopped
3 tbs sugar
1 1/2 cups cream
Salt and pepper

Preparation:

1. Cook onion and red pepper in butter in a stew pot until soft.

2. Add diced tomatoes and fresh tomatoes. Stir and reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 40 minutes.

3. Remove from heat. Add sugar, basil, salt and pepper and stir.

4. With an immersion blender, blend ingredients until smooth. While blending slowly add cream.

5. Return to heat until heated through. Do not boil. And you're DONE! Yep, it's that easy!!

Serve with a dollop of sour cream and Parmesan bread if you like.

Enjoy my Friends!

November, A Time to Give Thanks.

It's November already? Where has the time or year gone for that matter. This month I will be kicking off my Thirty Days of Giving Thanks! That's not to say you shouldn't be grateful EVERYDAY for God waking you up with a sound mind, healthy body, food and shelter.

So, throughout the month I will be writing down my daily devotion of what I'm thankful for. It's the little things. Things like family, goods friends and laughing at yourself when no one else is looking.

I invite you to join me and write down what you're grateful for too. You just might be surprised with the many blessings you have. I always like to remember this quote, "Someone else is happy with much less than what you have." Never let the things you want make you forget the things you have. For what good is a home if it's not filled with laughter or BOYS jumping off the rafters (Oh, did I say that)?

Stayed Blessed, my Friends!
